JU planted over 6000 multipurpose trees along Gilgel Gibe Catchment areas

Jimma University College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine organized a campaign on planting trees in Keresa woreda of Gilgel Gibe Dam catchment area. The purpose of the watershed management and planting tree is to enhance the quality and durability of the dam in generating renewable energy sustainably. It also minimizes siltation, soil erosion and enhance the suitability of micro-climate in the area that would contributes to Ethiopia green economy policy.

Mrs Tigist Nardos, JU's Staff Member, Dies

Mrs Tigist Nardos is an assistant professor in Jimma University College of Agriculture & Veterinary Medicine (JUCAVM). She has BSc in Horticulture from Jimma University and MSc from Wageningen University, Netherlands. She has been servicing as college gender coordinator and helped our female students to succeed in academics and social life. She is a hardworking, committed and sincere scholar. She has passed away on June 19, 2017 at the age of 33 after being treated in different hospitals. She has two kids; a boy and a girl.
JUCAVM community wishes her family, students and staffs strength and her rest in peace.
