Training on Data Management and Analysis held at BECO, JU

Research and Postgraduate office College of Business and Economics hosted staff training on “Data Management and Analysis Using STATA Software” in collaboration with Jimma University Clinical and Nutrition (JUCAN) Research Center. The training was held for four days starting from 16/10/2018 to 19/10/2018. Twenty seven academic staffs and PhD students selected from the five departments in the college have participated in the training. 

This training is intended to provide academic staffs with profound knowledge and skill on Data Management and Analysis Using STATA Software. This will help academic staff members in smoothly running their research projects and support postgraduate students with their research endeavour. The training also builds the capacity of students pursuing their PhD in managing data for their dissertation. The training was given by Dr. Alemseged Abdisa, Mr. Henok Asefa and Ms. Rahma all from JUCAN Research center, and facilitated by Mr. Waqoya Adugna, the administrative head of the JUCAN research center.

In his Closing speech, the Dean of College of Business and Economics, Dr. Kenenisa Lemi appreciated the support given by JUCAN research center and remarked that this kind of capacity building training should continue in the future. Further, he emphasised that the trainees should share the knowledge and skills obtained from the training to other staffs and postgraduate students.
