Professor Abraham Hailemlak, Professor in Pediatric Cardiology at Jimma University awarded an Honorary Doctoral Degree from the University of Oslo.

Professor Abraham Hailemalk Professor in Pediatric Cardiology at Jimma University awarded an Honorary Doctoral Degree from  the University of Oslo on a ceremony held on September 1, 2017at the University of Oslo. Professor Abraham served Jimma University as a Vice president (2003-2009), as a College Dean for Health Sciences (2011-2016) and led the old Jimma hospital as well as the development and planning of the new Jimma University hospital. At Jimma University, He is well-known for securing increased quality of the clinical service and for ensuring education of health for care providers. He is also recognized for his relentless work for increased quality of research and research education at Jimma University. He is now leading the NORAD supported capacity development program SACCADE, a collaborative effort with UiO. 
He had various awards for his astonishing contribution to the health sector including the- ‘Extraordinary Award for Passion, Dedication and Exceptionally life time Contribution to the Health Sector Advancement in Ethiopia’ in 2015 by the FDRE Ministry of Health.
Professor Abrahm was among the total 20 individuals from across the world to receive the Honorary Doctoral Degree.
