Vice President for Research and Community Services

The Research and Community Service Vice President serves as an executive officer for research and community service. The Vice President is a leader to the University’s long time tradition and academic philosophy, the Community Based Education. The Vice President for Research reports to the President and also works closely with the academic Vice President in order to fully align research with the overall academic mission of the University. Reporting to the Vice President are eight research units and three centers that support research and research-related activities on campus. The Vice President also works closely with Deans and Directors of schools, colleges, and institutes.

The Vice President plays a leadership role defining and meeting the emerging research opportunities of the future, the promotion of interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary research, integration of research and education at both the graduate and undergraduate level, promotion and facilitation of technology transfer, affirmation of the integrity of research processes and policies, establishment of national and international collaborative research partnerships at the University.
