JU students discuss Science and Technology, Education, Entrepreneurship and Youth Empowerment.

Jimma University in collaboration with the USA Embassy organizes a conference on the works and life history of President John F. Kennedy at Jimma University (JU) new conference Hall on November 09, 2017. 

Prof. Esayas Alemayehu, Scientific Director, Institute of Jimma University conveyed warm welcoming speech to participants and extended his appreciation to University’s council members and the USA Embassy for their role in organizing the conference.   

In his remark, Mr. Nick Barnett, a spokesperson for the US Embassy highlighted on the activities the US to support youth empowerment to enable them to positively contribute to the future of their country, Ethiopia. He also noted that President Kennedy’s legacy is alive and well in Ethiopia through the activities of the Peace Corps and USAID. Both of which he brought in to existence during his presidency. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On the occasion, five papers were presented by individual and group presenters. Following presentation key issues were discussed. 

Finally, Mr. Nick Barnett of USA embassy leaved a message to young people and for overall participants as they can share valuable skills and experiences that help them build stronger, more resilient communities.
