JU signs MoU with Oromia Science and Technology Development Agency

Oromia Science and Technology Development Agency and Jimma University signed an agreement on Wednesday 9th of May 2018 to join hands to execute training and software development Project. The major objective of the agreement is to ensure that the two parties work together to strengthen and provide capacity building training for the Regional Government of Oromia Science and Technology Development Agency so that they can produce software development for different sectors across the Region.

On the occasion Professor Fikre Lemessa, President of Jimma University has stated that such projects are initiated as part of JU’s effort to establish strong link with the industry by way of transferring technology in order to enable the community to benefit from teaching and research activities of Educational institutions such as JU.

Furthermore Dr. Tassisa Kaba, the directorate general of The Regional Government of Oromia Science and Technology Development Agency underlined that the project is very crucial for the agency to upgrade the human resources capacity of the institution and technology development of the region.  

Lastly the participants at the event have also forwarded constructive comments regarding the partnership and the way forward. Both institutions agreed to launch capacity building training, to exert joint efforts towards the realization of the projects incollaboration with the Oromia Regional State.

Finally, Professor Fikre Lemessa and Dr. Tassisa Kaba signed the agreement representing their respective institutions.
