JU community has been grieved by the death of one of its veteran staff Dr. Solomon Getahun , an Assistant Professor at the Department of Physics. He passed away on September 18, 2017 at the age of 43 after being ill for some time and have been medically assisted.
He had been serving the university in his area of expertise for many years since April 1998. He has a PHD in Physics from Addis Ababa University and has been teaching and advising post graduate students at his department and engaged in research and several community service activities.
He published more than 6 times in reputable journals. He was one of the most dedicated staff members of the department with strong desire to engage in scientific endeavors in his field of study and with high academic caliber.
We, hereby, pass our thoughts and prayers to Dr. Solomon’s family and friends and the entire JU Community. We wish them to quickly recover from their sorrow and grief.
