Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – August 24-25, 2017(ECA) – Jimma University and Lucy Consulting Engineers PLC organized a two-day conference on ‘Road Safety’. The conference, which aimed at creating a forum for discussion and networking, has managed to bring together academics, researchers, professionals, administrators, policy makers, industry representatives, students, and several others who are working to improve road safety in Ethiopia. The Conference was attended by officials, scholars, students, Practitioners, and was opened by HE Dr.
Leonhard Schweiberer MD, professor emeritus of surgery at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich has passed away Wednesday, 16 August 2017, aged 86. He along with his friend Dr Karl Heinz Böhm, Prof Schweiberer, has laid the foundations for the Link for medical education between Jimma University and the LMU. The Link was established in 2002, since then more than 150 staff and students of Jimma University have visited Munich and studied at the LMU. During the same time, more than 150 students and staff of LMU have visited Jimma and studied at the JU.
The Institute of Oromoo Studies (IOS) cordially invites all interested contributors to submit their manuscripts for publication on the first issue of its newly launched journal before September 30, 2017. Gadaa Journal is a peer reviewed, multidisciplinary, bilingual and open-access journal published twice per year (January & June) by the Institute of Oromoo Studies, Jimma University. The Journal welcomes scholarly manuscripts pertinent to Oromoo life and work (Jiruufi Jireenya) submitted using the mediums of English or Afaan Oromoo.
12th August 2017, Addis Ababa, Jimma University graduated 68 postgraduate students in Master of Business Administration (MBA) for the third time at Jimma University’s ABH Campus, Addis Ababa. The commencement was conducted on Saturday August 12, 2017 at Sheraton Addis Hotel in the presence of government officials, members of the university senate and invited guests.
