The centre is responsible to map, census the research centre setting and number all houses. Register vital events continuously to update the population registry with biannual update and reconciliation to produce reliable sampling frame for researchers who undertake research in the center.
During population updates data on pregnancy, pregnancy outcome, in-migration, death and out migration and marriage are collected followed by reconciliation activities. As part of reconciliation and completeness checking, census of the population is planned in five years interval and to update data on education, employment, environmental conditions, and other indicators. The center also collects longitudinal data on important human development indicators including child growth, morbidity and health service utilization.
