Public Health Faculty is one of the nine faculties of Jimma University. It was established in 1999. The faculty has three Schools, four Departments, and three coordinating offices (Community Based Education Coordinating Office, Graduate program coordinating office and Continuing and Distance Education Coordinating Office). It gives undergraduate degree level training in Nursing, Environmental Health, Public Health (Health officer) and Health education and promotion. Moreover it has initiated post graduate training in five different specialties in public health as of September 2004. These specialties are epidemiology, management, health education, reproductive health and general MPH. The faculty is under preparation to start graduate studies in Environmental health sciences in this academic year.
