One Health Approach Sensitization Meeting takes place at Jimma University

One Health Central and Eastern African (OHCEA) has organized a one day sensitization meeting  to Jimma University public health and  veterinary medicine staffs about one health approach and OHCEA network. .

The objective of One Health Sensitization meeting is to create awareness about one health concept and inform the academic staff of public health and veterinary medicine about the establishment of One Health Central and Eastern Africa (OHCEA ) network through the collaboration of seven schools of public health and seven schools of veterinary medicine.

One Health Central and Eastern Africa (OHCEA) which was established in Oct 2010 in Kampala, Uganda is a network of seven schools of public health and seven schools of veterinary medicine from six countries namely (Ethiopia, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and DRC). Ethiopia is  represented through Jimma University and Mekelle University. Currently the network is supported by RESPOND project of the USAID. On the sensitization meeting two US universities (Tufts and Minnesota) are affiliated to this network and three professors from the two universities have shared their rich experiences to Jimma university staffs on the occasion.
