A Five-day International professional course on Comprehensive Systematic Review is conducted in Jimma University from 18 to 22 November 2013.This training course is organized by Ethiopian Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) Centre housed in Health Education and Behavioral Sciences Department in collaboration with Adelaide University, Australia. The total participants inthis highly specialized training were 15. Out of these participants, 4 are from Makerere University, Uganda. They are faculty members of School of Public Health and School of Statistics of Makerere University.
This training program is inaugurated by Professor Abraham Haileamlak,Dean of College of Public Health and Medical Sciences of Jimma University. Professor Abraham, in his opening remarks, emphasized the importance of this course in building the capacity of African professionals in Evidence Based Health Care development and use evidence for policy making at the point of care. He concluded that this is one of the activities of the collaboration and partnership of Jimma University andMakerere University working in true sense now and in the future as well.
This course, which is facilitated by Mr. Kalkidan and others with the guidance of Professor Morankar, has made Participants to be very much satisfied with the training given and they remarked that they have gained a lot that will help them in their future career.
