Welcome
The faculty was established in 2000 although the schools have existed in different organizational form under the then Jimma institute of health sciences since 1983. It has three schools: the school of medicine, school of pharmacy and school of laboratory technology. Recently, Dentistry school and department of anesthesia in first degree are opened.
Mission
Considering the mission of the university, the faculty provides multidisciplinary and integrated teaching through its community based educational philosophy to contribute to health professionals’ needs of the nation and beyond, provide health care in community. We undertake research in field of medical sciences of national priority.
Main Objectives
To train competent medical practitioners who will be capable of handling the health problems of the nation, play a leading role in a health team and conduct medical research.
