The objectives of  agricultural economics and extension  is to train qualified graduates in Agricultural Economics and Agricultural Extension who are capable of undertaking research in socio-economic issues and render service to the community in cooperation with all other departments. The specific objectives include:-

• To train students for Rural and Agricultural development.
•  To undertake research in line with the university and country development program.
• To undertake development and extension programs.
•  To offer consultancy services for various organizations and community outreach.
