Based on the need assessment, conviction of the college staff and with the permission of the Commission for Higher Education (CHE), a diploma level training in General Agriculture in evening program was started in 1980. In its untiring effort to extend its services, the CED has started offering summer classes as of 1991under the agreement first signed in 1983 E.C between the College and the Ministry of State Farms Coffee and Tea Development (MSFCTD). The opening of training in Horticulture at B.Sc level (in 2000) inspired the birth of evening program at degree level in the college. Additionally, a summer-in-service training at B.Sc level in Horticulture and Natural Resource Management is going on since 2002. TOP
The primary objective of this program is to produce additional qualified and skillful professionals by upgrading from Diploma to B.Sc Degree level in the diverse disciplines of agriculture so as to contribute towards improving service towards food self-sufficiency.
