The Faculty of Education now comprises eleven departments

- Health and Physical Education Department
- Department of Geography and Environmental Studies
As part of its commitment to improve the quality of education, the faculty incorporated in its programs the Higher Diploma and Practicum and Community Based Training Programs. The Higher Diploma program aims at improving the quality of education in Ethiopian through licensing system which is believed to develop the skills and professionalism of teacher educators, where as Practicum and Community Based Training helps integrate education with practical community issue and enhance the relevance of education.
