WORKSHOP ON DEMAND DRIVEN RESEARCH CONDUCTED

Jimma University, in collaboration with PHE-Ethiopia consortium, Ministry of Water and Energy and Ethiopian Electric Power corporation, has conducted a workshop on Demand Driven Research between May 31,2012 and June 2,2012.

The workshop was aimed at the establishment of a tripartite collaboration and partnership among universities , government offices and concerned stakeholders.
Dr. Fikre Lemessa , President of JU, Made a welcome speech to the gathering. Mr. Negash Teklu, Executive Director of PHE-Ethiopia consortium, expressed the major objectives of the workshop. In addition, the message of His Excellency Mr. Alemayehu Tegenu, Minister of Ministry of water and Energy, was delivered to the participants.

Ato Kora Tushine, V/P for Administration and Development of JU, Presented the current research trends in Ethiopian Universities.

Adama , Bahirdar, Gondar, Haramaya, Hawasa, Jimma and Mekelle Universities presented   their research profiles at the workshop.

After conducting a thorough discussion on the presentations, the participants agree to work together for a better future in the field. They also formed a committee that is responsible for the practicality of Demand Driven Research in higher education institutions.
